Court Strikes down N.C.’s voter-ID law, says it Targeted Voters ‘Based on Race’

It seems the only way to protect the rights of African Americans is through the courts. The U.S. Congress is doing nothing to fight voter suppression. This is a small victory in a war that we are losing. The Republicans are engaging in full white supremacist attacks. And Democrats are unwilling to fight to defend the rights of our fellow citizens. Only a movement of the 99 percent will save the rights of voters of color:

A law to require voter identification in North Carolina discriminates against Black voters, making it unconstitutional, according to a 2-1 Superior Court ruling Friday in Wake County.

Citing a federal court ruling, the judges explained that the decision did not find “any member of the General Assembly who voted in favor of S.B. 824 harbors any racial animus or hatred towards African American voters,” but instead that the Republican majority targeted “voters who, based on race, were unlikely to vote for the majority party.” They said that constitutes racial discrimination “even if done for partisan ends.”

Peter Thiel Claimed Zuckerberg Agreed to Push ‘State-Sanctioned Conservatism’ Under Trump Deal, Book Says

If true this is an incredible scandal:

During a meeting in Washington, D.C. in 2019, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg agreed to not fact-check political posts if the Trump administration would steer clear of any “heavy-handed regulations,” venture capitalist Peter Thiel told an associate, according to a new book. The associate alleged that at the meeting—which was also attended by Thiel, former President Trump, Jared Kushner, and their spouses—Zuckerberg essentially promised to champion “state-sanctioned conservatism,” The Contrarian: Peter Thiel and Silicon Valley’s Pursuit of Power says. Zuckerberg denied the existence of a deal, saying that was “pretty ridiculous.”

The book also delves into the early days of Thiel, who eventually founded PayPal and Palantir, including his time in high school and at Stanford University, where he was disliked by many of his classmates. In high school, the San Francisco native was targeted for his “inscrutable and haughty” personality, the book says. “It’s obvious in retrospect that what we were doing was bullying,” one classmate said.“I’ve always thought he might have a list of people he’s going to kill somewhere and that I’m on it.”

The FBI Continues to Fail America

It was a law enforcement agency that was essentially created by a wannabe dictator, J.Edgar Hoover. They spied on and harassed the civil rights movement. They failed to prevent 9/11, falsely accused a hero, Richard Jewell. And more recently they failed to prevent the January 6th insurrection. Despite the propaganda the FBI is not a good organization. They represent the ruling the class. Their job is to protect power not to protect us:

50% of Republicans Don’t Want Trump as the Nominee in 2024

His prospects are diminishing by the day. The outrage over his re-election being ‘stolen’ is fading. Might have something to do with the lack of evidence. So that means that he’s a loser. And Republicans want to win in 2024:

Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say, 63% to 37%, that Trump should be the leader of the Republican Party. But they are about evenly split over whether having the defeated former President back on the ticket in 2024 would be an advantage: 51% say that Republicans have a better chance of retaking the presidency if Trump is the nominee, with 49% saying the party would be better off with a different nominee. That’s a very different landscape from 2019, when more than three-quarters of Republicans said their party had a better shot in 2020 with Trump as their nominee than they would with a different candidate.

Or maybe they think Trump isn’t very presidential:

Donald Trump was conspicuously missing from the memorial services attended by former presidents marking the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people on American soil – and Twitter users took note, sending “where’s trump” trending Saturday.

President Joe Biden and former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton attended the main ceremony in Lower Manhattan where the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers once stood, while former president George W. Bush spoke at a memorial close to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where Biden later laid a wreath before visiting the Pentagon, where 44 people died. Lee Cochran, a spokeswoman for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, confirmed that Trump’s people were given the same details about the ceremony but chose not to attend.

“He had the option to attend but decided to honor the day with different stops,” Trump’s spokeswoman, Liz Harrington, said.

The Atlantic: “Why Americans Die So Much”

This stat more than anything else shows a nation in decline. Which is ironic given the previous administration bragged that they were making “America great again.” They in fact accelerated our nation’s decline. We are on the verge of abyss. And it’s decades in the making. And it’s the result of a corrupt two-party duopoly that is tyrannical:

I’m talking about the past 30 years. Before the 1990s, average life expectancy in the U.S. was not much different than it was in Germany, the United Kingdom, or France. But since the 1990s, American life spans started falling significantly behind those in similarly wealthy European countries.

According to a new working paper released by the National Bureau of Economic Research, Americans now die earlier than their European counterparts, no matter what age you’re looking at. Compared with Europeans, American babies are more likely to die before they turn 5, American teens are more likely to die before they turn 20, and American adults are more likely to die before they turn 65. At every age, living in the United States carries a higher risk of mortality. This is America’s unsung death penalty, and it adds up. Average life expectancy surged above 80 years old in just about every Western European country in the 2010s, including Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the U.K., Denmark, and Switzerland. In the U.S., by contrast, the average life span has never exceeded 79—and now it’s just taken a historic tumble.

Last US drone strike in Afghanistan killed a US-allied aid worker — not an ISIS ‘suicide bomber’: report

This is a gigantic scandal that will probably be swept under the rug. They killed innocent people then tried to cover it up. It’s just horrendous as all the events during the last days of the U.S. evacuation in Afghanistan. And Biden is to blame for this Just as he is for the disastrous exit. He must resign. We must demand Biden tell us the truth about what happened. And apologize. But he won’t do that. Someone should lose their job for this infamy:

“…a new report from The New York Times says that it was a case of mistaken identity that killed a U.S.-allied aid worker along with other innocent people.

“Military officials said they did not know the identity of the car’s driver when the drone fired, but deemed him suspicious because of how they interpreted his activities that day, saying that he possibly visited an ISIS safe house and, at one point, loaded what they thought could be explosives into the car,” the Times reports.

“Times reporting has identified the driver as Zemari Ahmadi, a longtime worker for a U.S. aid group,” the report continues. “The evidence, including extensive interviews with family members, co-workers and witnesses, suggests that his travels that day actually involved transporting colleagues to and from work. And an analysis of video feeds showed that what the military may have seen was Mr. Ahmadi and a colleague loading canisters of water into his trunk to bring home to his family.”

America’s ultra-wealthy are responsible for 28% of unpaid taxes in US — $7 trillion in lost revenue: report

Let’s not forget this is happening with the blessing and assistance of the government. They concern themselves with little people not paying taxes. The wealthy get a free ride. And the consequence to society is devastating:

Wealthy Americans owe approximately 28% of all back taxes and have avoided paying an estimated $163 billion each year, according to a new report published by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

According to The New York Times, the Treasury found the top 1% of the United States’ ultra-wealthy that have avoided paying taxes is “pushing the estimated tax gap, the amount of money owed by taxpayers that isn’t collected, to nearly around $600 billion annually, and to approximately $7 trillion in lost revenue over the next decade.”

House panel approves $25B boost for Defense Budget

America might be in crisis and money is limited for spending on urgent needs for our citizens, but the Congress is always able to find funds to spend on the military. This obscene misallocation of funds is even worse than what we’ve come to expect from both parties. They know it’s outrageous but they don’t care. Their first loyalty is to the military-industrial-complex:

The House Armed Services Committee voted Wednesday to add nearly $25 billion to President Biden’s proposed defense budget as more than a dozen Democrats sided with Republicans on bulking up Pentagon funding.

The committee voted 42-17 on an amendment from Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), the ranking member of the panel, to set the fiscal 2022 defense budget at $778 billion — $37 billion more than approved for this year and $25 billion more than Biden asked for next year.

Covid Deaths are Surging. It’s GOP Mass Murder.

The GOP has decided that the best to get power is by tolerating and/or promoting vaccine hesitancy. That makes them complicit in the deaths of thousands of Americans.

And it’s no longer just Trump anymore. He’s created a monster that Republicans, at the very least, don’t want to take on. But they are still to blame:

Trump is nevertheless still killing people:

A Super Spreader event

Republicans are now scapegoating blacks for the Covid crisis in the South. Because it’s all about the racebase:

Texas Lt.Gov. Blames Covid Surge in the South on Unvaccinated African Americans

It is a 100% racist comment. Not even Trump would go this far. It should be major story. But it isn’t. Where is the outrage from Democrats? Where is the outrage in general?

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said unvaccinated African Americans — not lax coronavirus precautions in states like his — are responsible for the surge in Covid-19 cases in his state.

“The Covid is spreading, particularly most of the numbers are with the unvaccinated, and the Democrats like to blame Republicans on that,” Patrick told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in an interview Thursday night. “Well, the biggest group in most states are African Americans who have not been vaccinated. Last time I checked, over 90 percent of them vote for Democrats in their major cities and major counties, so it’s up to the Democrats to get … as many people vaccinated.”

Ingraham had asked Patrick, who has previously blamed undocumented immigrants for the rise in cases, to respond to charges that his and Gov. Greg Abbott’s policies are to blame for the spike that has over 12,000 Texans hospitalized.

African Americans, who have had lower rates of vaccinations, make up about 13 percent of the state population and about 16 percent of cases, while whites and Hispanics, who make up more than 80 percent of the population, have accounted for about 70 percent of cases, according to statistics from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
