Democrats didn’t call witnesses because ‘people want to get home for Valentine‘s Day’: report

Democrats show their true colors: half-hearted opportunists who have no convictions. Once again they’ve allowed themselves to be played by Trump and the Republicans. The first impeachment was a fiasco that only emboldened Trump to commit more crimes. The second will do the same for the GOP. They don’t fear Democrats. And we can’t trust them to fight for us:

More information is coming out about the decision by House impeachment managers to refrain from calling witnesses during Donald Trump’s Senate trial.

On Saturday, the Senate voted 55-45 to allow witnesses, but none were called.

“During the Senate break after the witness vote Saturday, Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) twice came into the managers’ room off the Senate floor, according to multiple Democratic sources. Coons pressed House Democrats to relent, saying their quest for witnesses would cost them Republican votes to convict and maybe even some Democrats,” Politico reports.

“The jury is ready to vote,” Coons told the House managers, according to a senior House Democratic aide. “People want to get home for Valentine’s Day.”

The $15 Minimum Wage Won in Florida, But Biden Didn’t. Here’s Why.

Another perfect example of how out of touch the Democratic Party establishment is. You can’t tell them that. They think their failure to win over workers is all the fault of AOC and Black Lives Matter:

On November 3, Florida’s politically diverse electorate showed resounding support for Amendment 2, an initiative to gradually raise the state minimum wage from $8.56 an hour to $15 by 2026. This makes Florida the eighth state nationwide, and the first state in the South, to get on track towards a $15 minimum wage.

This victory contrasts sharply with the loss of Biden in the state, as well as significant losses for the state Democratic Party. The activists behind Amendment 2 say their campaign offers lessons for how progressive ideas can win the day by prioritizing improving the material conditions of workers, and speak directly to the hardship that people face.

DNC Snubs Progressives at Democratic Party Convention

The Democratic Party hierarchy is not hiding it’s contempt for progressive political leaders in the party. They believe that acting like Republicans is the only way of beating the real Republicans. They are wrong, of course. But you can’t alienate the Wall St. donors. Because money is what rules politics. Progressives believe otherwise.

It is an insult to Bernie Sanders speaking the first night of the convention. He should nominating Biden on the last night. He won the 2nd most delegates. Sanders si speaking the same night as a non-politician Michelle Obama and a “Conservative” Republican, John Kasich, who is no longer in office. At the very least Sanders should be the keynote speaker Tuesday night–by himself. Not Jill Biden.
