Donald Trump Inadvertently Admits Guilt on Criminal Charges Filed Against his Company

Trump has a habit of blurting out incriminating facts/evidence. Sometimes you have to wonder whether he does it on purpose. So far he’s gotten away with it. We’ll see once again whether there is method to his madness:

Former President Donald Trump appeared to acknowledge the core facts in New York prosecutors’ case against the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer even as he characterized the charges as a political attack aimed at him.
Trump told a crowd in Sarasota, Florida, on Saturday night that “every company” does “fringe benefits,” but he mocked prosecutors for pursuing the charges, saying it is “reminiscent of a communist dictatorship targeting your political opponents.” The comments mark the former President’s most substantial yet on the charges after they were unsealed last week in the first criminal case against his namesake company.
“Never before has New York City and their prosecutors or perhaps any prosecutors criminally charged a company or a person for fringe benefits,” Trump said. “Fringe benefits. Murders, OK; human trafficking, no problem. But fringe benefits, you can’t do that.”

Companies like UPS, Pfizer, GE, AT&T Promised no Donations to Insurrectionists. They lied.

We should have known. Patriotism and honor are only fleeting things in politics and big business.

Six months after the January 6 Capitol riot, numerous large companies appear to have fallen short of promises not to fund the 147 lawmakers who objected to certifying Joe Biden’s 2020 election win, the Associated Press reported.
The GOP lawmakers objected to certifying the result in relation to false claims made by then-President Donald Trump.
Supporters of Trump breached the US Capitol and clashed with law enforcement on the day Congress was gathered to certify Biden’s victory over Trump.
The AP identified Walmart, Pfizer, Intel, General Electric, and AT&T as some of the companies that said they wouldn’t donate to lawmakers who opposed certification but had since donated thousands of dollars to political action committees that support them.
Some companies used language from the beginning that left open the possibility of only a temporary pause, but the AP also reported that some argued donating to PACs was different from donating directly to lawmakers.
In April, three months after saying it wouldn’t support the 147 lawmakers, Walmart gave $30,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee, which supports GOP members running in House elections. More than half of House Republicans voted against certification.

Former Murdoch Executive: Fox News Is Poison For America

The truth about FOX from someone who knew the network intimately:

A former Fox executive has blasted Fox News, saying that not even the network’s longtime proprietor Rupert Murdoch believes its coverage.
In an op-ed published Sunday by The Daily Beast, Preston Padden, who served as president of network distribution at the Fox Broadcasting Company for seven years, wrote that Fox News is a TV channel “that no reasonable person would believe.”

Murdoch, who isn’t an American despite his U.S. citizenship. He got citizenship because it was required if he wanted to create the FOX Network. His news programming is a formula that sells. He doesn’t give a damn about the people who watch FOX as long as it makes him money. He used the same formula in Australia and Britain for years before coming to America. Murdoch learned early on that right-wing news sells. And that’s what happened in America.

Fox News has caused many millions of Americans—most of them Republicans (as my wife and I were for 50 years)—to believe things that simply are not true. For example, Yahoo News reports that 73 percent of Republicans blame “left-wing protesters” for the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Of course, that is ludicrous. All one has to do is look at the pictures or videos of the attack to see that the violent mob was comprised of Trump supporters. Similarly, a poll by SSRS in late April found that two-thirds of Republicans either believe or suspect that the election was stolen from Trump—60 percent saying there is “hard evidence” that the election was stolen. As noted above, this ridiculous notion has been thoroughly refuted. But millions of Americans believe these falsehoods because they have been drilled into their minds, night after night, by Fox News.

FOX News is fined $1 million for sexual harassment and retaliation

Finally the propaganda channel of the right that claims to uphold Christian values is finally held accountable for their sexual depravity:

The New York City Commission on Human Rights has fined Fox News $1 million, the largest penalty in its history, for violations of laws protecting against sexual harassment and job retaliation.
As part of a settlement agreement announced Tuesday, Fox also agreed to mandate anti-harassment training for its New York-based staff and contributors and to temporarily allow people who allege misconduct under human rights law to bring claims and not be subject to binding arbitration.

Tamara Holder, who reached a $2.5 million settlement with FOX News in 2017, broke her confidentiality agreement to challenge the owner of the company, Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch “dismissed” allegations of rampant sexual harassment by “various men at Fox News.” The company had previously “ousted former anchor Bill O’Reilly and CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment.

Popular Qanon Conspiracy Theorist is a Rapist and a Crook

Are we surprised? Much like their hero Donald Trump, Qanon is a cult-scam intended to fool people.

The Qanon people “often often talk about protecting children from pedophiles and sex traffickers. They accuse top figures in the Democratic Party and Hollywood of abusing children.”

“Philip Godlewski, who has amassed more than 48,000 followers on YouTube and Telegram” warns his followers that “nefarious global forces practice “Satanic children-torturing so you can drink their blood to get high.”” He also claims “John F. Kennedy Jr. faked his death and will soon return to public life.”

This same individual who keeps company with Michael Flynn, also has a criminal past. Including rape:

“In 2010, Godlewski was indicted for statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and a host of other crimes after allegedly carrying on a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.”
“…pleaded guilty last June in an unrelated case over writing a bad check for more than $21,000 in home improvement materials, then falsifying his bank records to cover up the crime.”

Qanon is more than a scam. It is also a national security threat:

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a dire warning to law-enforcement agencies Monday, citing a high risk of extremist violence in the coming weeks due to factors including the easing of COVID restrictions, the anniversaries of past domestic terror attacks, and the QAnon conspiracy theory that former president Donald Trump will be reinstated in August.

Texas White Supremacists get Chased out of Philadelphia

Not sure what they were thinking. But it didn’t end well:

Members of a white supremacist group marching through Philadelphia on Saturday evening “ran away” from city residents who confronted them, according to police.
Demonstrators, who police said were from out of town and were reportedly members of the Texas-based Patriots Front, chanted while holding American flags and shields as they made their way from Ben Franklin Parkway to Penn’s Landing, according to WPVI, an ABC affiliate.
Photos from the scene showed the group carrying a banner that said “Reclaim America.”
…”They started engaging with citizens of Philadelphia, who were none too happy about what they were saying. These males felt threatened, and at one point, somebody threw a smoke bomb to cover their retreat, and they literally ran away from the people of Philadelphia,” Philadelphia Police Officer Michael Crum told reporters.

The proposed legislation has come under intense criticism in recent weeks in the wake of the killing of Sarah Everard, a young woman who was murdered in London after walking home from a friend’s house in the evening, and a subsequent vigil to honor her that was broken up by the police.
It “gives broad authority to police forces when it comes to handling protests — and that has proved to be a lightning rod.
Under current law, the police must first determine that a demonstration could result in serious public disorder, property damage or serious disruption to the life of the community before it can impose restrictions.
But the new bill would offer much broader powers for the police. It will leave much to their own discretion, and potentially allow them to criminalize protests they deem a “public nuisance.””

More People Are Getting Guns Without FBI Background Checks, Study Says

Should this be happening? And what is Biden doing about it. Gun violence is out of control:

Last year, the United States saw record numbers of gun sales, and it strained the FBI’s background check process, meaning more background checks were left incomplete. If an FBI background check is delayed by more than three business days, gun dealers can legally sell a firearm without a completed background check.

According to FBI data analyzed by Five Thirty-Eight, the bureau ran 12,761,328 background checks in 2020. That’s 50 percent more than in earlier years. And because of the soaring rates of gun sales, the FBI was also unable to complete 316,000 background checks during the first nine months of last year. Five Thirty-Eight also noted that the total of incomplete background checks for last year is certainly higher than that, as gun sales typically spike in the last three months of the year. In October, November, and December 2020 alone, the FBI opened 3.4 million background checks.
