Trump Must be Arrested on January 21st

Officer SickNick being murdered

The evidence is overwhelming that Donald Trump planned and orchestrated the attack on the Capitol on January 6th. Based on what happened that day and everything that led up to it, Trump has committed treason against the United States. And we must demand he be arrested the day ceases to be president. He no longer will have protection. He will be a private citizen, thus subject to immediate arrest.

A police officer was killed. He should be charged with murder:

Members of Several Well-Known Hate Groups Identified at Capitol Riot

The worst of the worst were part of those groups who entered the Capitol building:

The precise composition of the mob that forced its way into the Capitol on Wednesday, disrupting sessions of both houses of Congress and leaving a police officer and four others dead, remains unknown. But a review by a ProPublica-FRONTLINE team that has been tracking far-right movements for the past three years shows that the crowd included members of the Proud Boys and other groups with violent ideologies. Videos reveal the presence of several noted hardcore nativists and white nationalists who participated in the 2017 white power rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that President Donald Trump infamously refused to condemn.

No Proof for Right-Wing Claim Antifa were at Capitol Insurrection. Those Arrested are Neo-Fascists, MAGA.

A new conspiracy theory. Just as crazy as QAnon

Don’t look like Antifa to me:

The Des Moines man seen in the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol has been booked into the Polk County Jail.

Doug Jensen, 41, is being held there for now. He is one of several people wanted by the FBI in connection to Wednesday’s riot.

Black Woman Attacked by a Racist Pro-Trump Mob in Los Angeles

This shocking event has received very little press coverage:

Photographs from the demonstration, taken by freelance photojournalist Raquel Natalicchio, showed the moments Nibo was attacked by the mob.

“It’s a shame that I can’t walk down my street anymore,” Nibo said.

She said she was walking near the demonstration when she said the pro-Trump demonstrators began harassing her.

“I’m walking by and they’re yelling at me because of my color, calling me the N-word calling me the B-word, saying, ‘All lives matter, Black lives doesn’t matter,’” she said.

She said she yelled back and the crowd began following her, and then it turned violent.

“He goes and smacks me in the face,” Nibo said of one of the demonstrators. “And then all of them start trying to jump me, and then people jump in.”

“When they started pushing her around, this other woman that was a Trump supporter came up to her and ripped her wig off.” Natalicchio said. “Obviously, at that point, she began to try to defend herself.”

Natalicchio said she had to speak out about what she witnessed Wednesday afternoon.

“It’s disgraceful,” she said. “I think it’s disgusting we’re witnessing the very real racism that still lives in our country today.”

Nibo said strangers came to her rescue, including a man with a red beard who was seen holding her in a number of the photos.

“He was whispering in my ear going ‘You’re OK, I got you, I’ve got you, don’t do anything. These people are literally trying to kill you,’” Nibo said.

As she said the man attempted to get her safely away from the crowd, she was pepper sprayed in the face and hit. She credits the man for saving her life.

“If not for him stepping in at that moment, these people would have literally tried to kill me,” she said.

The Los Angeles Police Department Thursday was looking into several physical altercations that erupted in downtown Los Angeles during a pro-Trump rally held Wednesday.

Trump is to Blame for the Murder of a Police Officer During Attack On Capitol

Trump incited, promoted, encouraged, and called for the violence that led to the death of this police officer. He should be charged with murder. Along with Giuliani and Don Jr.:

U.S. Capitol Police announced late Thursday that an officer hurt during this week’s violent assault on the chambers of Congress by protesters loyal to President Trump has died from his injuries.

“At approximately 9:30 p.m. this evening (January 7, 2021), United States Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away due to injuries sustained while on-duty,” a statement from the U.S. Capitol Police said.

“Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol and was injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and collapsed,” the statement said.

It said that Sicknick had been taken to a local hospital and that his death will be investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, the U.S. Capitol Police and “our federal partners.”

The confirmation follows an earlier, premature report that the officer had died, which NPR incorrectly reported based on information from a well-placed source.

More than 50 criminal cases are being opened against pro-Trump extremists who engaged in violence during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

Impeaching Trump Again is a Waste of Time. Charge him with Sedition.

Impeaching Trump a second time at this point is a complete useless exercise. No impeachment could happen within two weeks. They should be working on holding hearings leading up eventual charges of treason against the current occupant of the White House. Americans must demand that the incoming president prosecute Trump for his crimes against our country.

The best course of action is for Trump to be charged with sedition (if treason charges are deemed too difficult to prosecute.) Many of those who breached the Capitol stand to be charged with sedition. The term itself has been used repeatedly even by Republicans:

The strength of our republic rests in its norms, norms that have been consistently shredded by the president. The real dangerous precedent would be to ignore acts of sedition, or to merely punish the feckless rioters who took Trump’s attempt to steal the election to heart.

This was a coup attempt, even if it failed. Trump has already threatened more and sustained action, both fundraising, and therefore profiting from this crime, and teasing future attempts to regain the presidency. Failing to pursue sedition charges will allow Trump to continue even after he is out of office. It will also set up a tiered system of justice, encouraging future demagogues to attempt coups, safe in the knowledge that they will not face severe consequences if they fail. If this is not sedition, then there is no such thing. It is our duty to uphold democracy even when others won’t.

Trump can and should be brought on charges once he’s out of office. The main precedent it would set would be that acts of sedition are intolerable, regardless of who commits them. In other words, no-one is above the law. Let the legal system decide whether or not he ought to face jail time. Let justice be served, impartially, and fully.

Keller residents Demand Accountability for Cop who ordered man Arrested, Pepper Sprayed

And why weren’t these cops fired?

The Keller police chief and mayor assured the community Tuesday night that the arrest of a man who was filming his son’s arrest over a traffic violation was an unacceptable, but isolated, incident.

The arrest and subsequent pepper spraying of Marco Puente gained national attention after the family filed a lawsuit against two Keller officers. The entire incident was video recorded on multiple dash cam and body worn cameras. The Keller police chief apologized for his officers’ behavior two days later and said they were in the wrong, according to a federal lawsuit Puente and his attorneys filed against the officers on Dec. 15.

Officer Blake Shimanek, previously a sergeant with the department, ordered Officer Antik Tomer arrest and pepper spray Puente on Aug. 15 while Puente filmed his son’s arrest. Puente, an emergency electrician who grew up in Keller, was left without medical attention for 15 minutes.

Iran Issues Interpol Arrest Request For President Trump Over Top Military Assassination

Trump should be turned over to the World Court once he leaves office on January 20th. Additional to the assassination of the Iranian leader was Trump’s violation of human rights along the southern border:

Iran has issued a “red notice” request to international police organization Interpol seeking the arrest of U.S. President Donald Trump and 47 other American officials for the role it says they played in the assassination of top general Qassem Soleimani in early 2020, a move that coincides with the anniversary of Soleimani’s death.

He should face justice for his mistreatment of immigrants along the border. The separation of families was a horrendous crime reminiscent of the worst regimes in the world:

The Trump administration violated international law when it separated migrant children from their families, a United Nations expert said Monday.

That’s not all, said Manfred Nowak, the independent expert leading a global study on children deprived of liberty. With over 100,000 children still in migration-related detention, the United States leads the world with the highest number of children in migration-related custody in the world.
