NYPD officers describe arrest quota system for Black and Latino New Yorkers in new affidavits

Shocking. But no one in government will do anything about. The beat goes on:

Four NYPD officers say in new sworn declarations that an off-the-books arrest quota system targeted Black and Latino New Yorkers — with one cop recalling a white supervisor asking, “Are you going to take someone’s freedom today?”
The new documents, which will soon be filed in Manhattan federal court, add further detail to a long-running lawsuit launched by four other minority officers claiming they faced retaliation for not arresting enough people of color. White officers allegedly did not face the arrest expectations.

Officer Charles Spruill, who retired in 2014, has come forward to claim he was yelled at on a daily basis to meet arrest quotas.

Biden, Democratic Leadership got Played by Senator Manchin

Democrats once again proved what fools they are. This time they fell for a “compromise” voting rights bill that would get support from Republicans in the Senate. The problem is McConnell shot down the proposal. And that was predictable. But because Democrats in Congress are so naive that they are willing to compromise everything on the altar of bipartisanship. Even while Republicans spit in their faces.

In the process they allowed themselves to be fooled into thinking that Manchin can be trusted to do the right thing. What they did was to absolve the West Virginian Senator from being blamed for his opposition to important legislation that would stop Republican disenfranchisement of black voters throughout the country. Manchin was under great pressure to change his stance. Now he is ‘Scott Free’ (pardon the pun).

We know they aren’t going to do anything.

No dummy, Manchin is all about self-preservation. He don’t give a damn about bipartisanship. It’s a ruse.

Democrats are Failing to Defend the Rights of African-Americans

While Democrats in Congress pat themselves on the back for signing into law the Juneteenth holiday, they are failing to defend the rights of African-Americans at the polls and beyond. But should we be surprised.

Image

The Republican Party is a threat to the our republic. And the Democrats doing nothing to defend us. And in particular, they are engaging wholesale race-baiting and bigotry. Everything they do is promote hate and insurrection.

60% of millennials earning over $100,000 say they’re living paycheck to paycheck

Incredible. The economy is broken; except if you are rich.

Sixty percent of millennials raking in over $100,000 a year say they’re living paycheck to paycheck, according to a new survey by PYMNTS and lending company LendingClub which analyzed economic data and census-balanced surveys of over 28,000 Americans.

High-earning millennials are stretching their paychecks.

It found that the more than half (54%) Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. And nearly 40% of high-earners — those making more than $100,000 annually — say they live that way.

Most Americans Oppose Apartheid Policies in Israel

There is no more debate in Israel (this article appears is from the Jerusalem Post) than in the U.S. about our support for that country. The U.S. mainstream press/media mostly bans debate. And they certainly don’t want you to know that the American people do not support carte blanche support for the Apartheid regime in Israel. And more importantly, the American people are divided while Congress is not. They are totally beholden to the pro-Israel lobby:

A majority of US voters endorsed restrictions that would keep Israel from spending US defense assistance to detain Palestinian minors, destroy Palestinian buildings, or annex parts of the West Bank, according to the results of a new poll conducted during the most recent Israel-Gaza conflict.

The poll, conducted by Data for Progress, a progressive polling firm, sought to capture public opinion on a question that is increasingly dividing Democratic lawmakers: whether US aid to Israel should be withheld if Israel does not meet certain conditions. For many years, that opinion has been considered off-limits for politicians, but that has shifted recently with the rise of a progressive left in the Democratic Party.
